Day by Day Itinerary
Pick-up from your hotel in Casablanca (7:30 AM). Visit the exterior of the Hassan II Mosque — the world's 3rd largest mosque built over the Atlantic Ocean with a 210m minaret. Drive north to Rabat — Morocco's elegant capital. Visit the Hassan Tower, Mausoleum of Mohammed V, and the Kasbah des Oudaias. Continue to Meknes — the Moroccan "Versailles" (Bab Mansour gate, Moulay Ismail mausoleum). Arrive in Fes by evening. Overnight in Fes.
Full morning guided tour of Fes el-Bali — UNESCO World Heritage Site and world's largest car-free urban area. Visit the 11th-century Chouara tanneries, Al-Attarine madrasa, Bou Inania madrasa, and Kairaouine mosque (world's oldest university, founded 859 AD). Afternoon drive south to Ifrane (alpine-style town at 1650m), then through the Azrou cedar forest where Barbary macaques roam freely. Overnight in Midelt (Middle Atlas mountains).
After breakfast, drive through the dramatic Ziz Gorges with panoramic view stops. Continue along the magnificent Ziz Valley — a vast palm-lined river valley stretching for kilometres. Pass through Errachidia and Erfoud (fossilized marble workshops). Arrive in Merzouga by late afternoon. Mount your camels for a magical sunset trek into the Erg Chebbi dunes. Watch the sun sink behind the golden dunes. Traditional Moroccan dinner, live Gnawa music around the campfire, and overnight in the luxury Berber desert camp under a star-filled sky.
Rise before dawn for the spectacular Sahara sunrise. Breakfast. Drive through Rissani souk (Alaouite dynasty birthplace). Continue to Tinghir oasis and the dramatic Todra Gorges — 300m high red rock walls. Through the Dades Valley to the legendary UNESCO Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou — Morocco's most photographed monument, filming location for Gladiator, Game of Thrones, and The Mummy. Overnight in Ouarzazate.
After breakfast, cross the spectacular High Atlas mountains via the Tizi-n-Tichka pass — panoramic stops for stunning views. Arrive in Marrakech by early afternoon. Optional afternoon guided tour of the medina (Jemaa el-Fna, Bahia Palace, souks). Drop-off at your hotel/riad. Tour ends in Marrakech.
